POSITION OBJECTIVE
The Data Analyst provides critical support to BranchED’s data management and analysis, program evaluation, and performance measurement activities to assess the impact of its work and assist in refining the organization’s strategies. The Data Analyst works collaboratively with the Director of Organizational Effectiveness and staff at all levels of the organization for the collection, analysis, interpretation, and application of organizational data in support of internal evaluation and planning. The position supports the development of systems and processes to ensure accuracy of a wide variety of data/information. The Data Analyst supports the Director of Organizational Effectiveness with internal and external reporting and data needs by implementing processes and procedures for team members to leverage organizational data. The Data Analyst helps bolster staff access to organizational data in service of programmatic review of key performance indicators and supports the achievement of the organization’s goal to become a learning organization that embraces continuous improvement.
LOCATION
This is a remote position and all candidates within the continental United States will be considered.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Data Analysis, Visualization, Use, and Reporting
- Extract, compile, and analyze quantitative and qualitative participant and programmatic performance data from multiple data systems
- Develop easily accessible data visualizations to respond proactively to recurring data requests and to make large and/or complex data more accessible, understandable, and usable
- Serve as the lead administrator for Power BI dashboard designs and implementation strategies to support staff usage and engagement for continuous improvement
- Serve as the primary responder to all data requests to fulfill reporting and other communication needs, triage and delegate as necessary
- Maintain and manage a data-request system from which all internal report requests should come
- Support the program team with identifying data sources, calculating baselines, setting targets, benchmark goals, etc.
- Develop metrics and reporting structures for the executive team to use on a regular basis
- Assist with various types of reporting, including reports for the board, funders, internal reviews, and other partnerships
- Collaborate on data presentations and contributions for a variety of internal and external audiences
Data Collection and Monitoring
- Ensure data collection and reporting methods are accurate, effective and efficient
- Lead data collection, entry and validation practices and procedures
- Collaborate across organizational teams to support preparation for and evaluation of new and existing projects.
- Design a quality assurance process for executing regular checks of the integrity of data and taking measures to correct data discrepancies as noted
- Conduct annual updates to BranchED’s database of institutions by collecting and collating publicly available data sources (namely Title II, IPEDs, and CMSI)
- Serve as a central resource for BranchED team to understand institutional profile data (i.e., all institutional enrollment, completer, and demographic data)
- Support with ensuring data security policies and procedures are followed by all staff
Evaluation and Assessment
- Develop and provide oversight to the design, monitoring and reporting of metrics for organization wide outcomes and strategy mapping
- Organize and analyze all data sources collected from Educator Preparation Programs (EPPs) such as surveys, focus groups, assessments, etc.
- Support the Director of Organization Effectiveness in the developing and maintaining tools required events or other activities
Organizational Learning Culture
- Support the Director of Organizational Effectiveness in developing a culture where improvement and learning are foundational elements of how we do business
- Support the development and refinement of the organization’s Data Hub (i.e., data dictionary, fact book, impact report, statistical profile, annual statistics repository, and quarterly implementation metrics)
- Design, implement, and codify a “cycle of continuous improvement” system for BranchED to drive strategic advancement of programs and services
- Support the development, maintenance, and delivery of data trainings for the program and strategy teams

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- BA or BS from a regionally accredited institution
- Minimum 5+ years of related experience in P12 organizations, higher education, or national education technical assistance organizations
- Experience in institutional research and effectiveness, highly preferred
- Experience working in a non-profit, a plus
- Experience with data management, analytics, and visualization software (i.e., Excel, Power BI, Tableau).
- Experience with Salesforce or other case management software, highly preferred
- Experience in using data to support and drive programmatic decision-making and improvement
- Experience using Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, or other software to develop and present graphs and tables for a general audience
- Experience with SQL or other programming language, a plus
- Experience with methods and procedures for data acquisition, management, and quality control
- Understanding of quantitative and/or qualitative methods to highlight the assets and community needs of diverse and marginalized communities
- Familiarity with demographic and educational datasets
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Self-directed and capable of working to meet quick turnaround and deadlines independently
- Maintain a professional attitude, confidentiality, and respect cultural differences
Technical Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Zoom, PowerPoint, and Dropbox
- Advanced skills in Power BI, Tableau, or similar data visualization tools
- Salesforce skills preferred
- Statistical analysis software skills preferred

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
This is a full-time exempt position with a starting salary range of $63,500 - $79,250 annually. BranchED provides the following benefits for eligible employees:
